Job Summary

Source, quote, order and follow up on required customer requested products in order to meet demands.  Assist in estimating and quoting time and materials to produce products for customer.  Work in cooperation with Scheduling, Production, Engineering and Sales functions to ensure that internal and external customer needs are being met and are contributing to the future success of the company.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to work with different needs of very different Customer and Engineering groups
  • Interact with customer to gather drawings, models, and project specifications
  • Ability to utilize CAD software to review part data
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), and how that affects manufacturability
  • Ability to quickly review customer supplied information and determine the important information
  • Interact with outside suppliers for pricing of processes
  • Work with Outside Sales to meet the needs of the customer
  • Work with Material Purchasing for current Pricing
  • Work with Shop Floor Team Members to find out runtimes and special tooling needs
  • Work with Engineering to establish standard communication in quotes
  • Work with Scheduling to understand work loads
  • Use these items to produce a quote of the time and materials required to produce the product using the Pro-Cise Quote Sheet
  • Based on the customer, apply a markup to the quote
  • Save all information that is used for the quote in an organized fashion so that it can be located easily in the future
  • Contact the customer about to find out about win and loss of quotes
  • Inform customers of changes to the quote leadtimes or material pricing
  • Attend production/status meetings as needed
  • Remain compliant with company established procedures and standards
  • Remain compliant with safety program
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in a fabricating, machining, welding and assembly environment
  • Experience with Solidworks/3D and 2D software
  • Experience estimating fabricated, welded, and machined components is recommended
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of Excel
  • Manage large amounts of work in a timely manner
  • Self motivated, self-driven and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task
  • Carry out tasks with little to no supervision
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Able to work independently and as a team

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At minimum, 3 years experience in a fabricating, machining, welding and assembly environment
  • Associate or bachelor degree in business or economics preferred
  • Excellent technical/computer skills
  • Experience with ERP software highly recommended

Physical Demands

 Long periods of standing and/or sitting, occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.  Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Quality Technician II

Job Summary

Verifies product quality by visually and dimensionally inspecting incoming materials, work in progress and finished goods; works with all departments within the organization to ensure quality products and efficient material flow and promotes a culture of continuous improvement and positive work environment by performing the following duties.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Measures and gauges parts by operating hand tools and use of coordinate measuring machines
  • Handles and manages Non-Conforming Parts
  • Has an advanced understanding  of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Able to initiate NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)
  • Supports First Article Inspection.
  • Is compliant to ISO procedures and standards.
  • Is compliant with company safety programs.
  • Participates in cost and quality improvement projects.
  • Able to provide floor support related to inspection techniques and requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
